I fear that there is a lot of talent involved and talent just can’t learn, just as you can’t choose your family and neighbors and you eat what’s on the table anyway. It’s just like that and maybe it’s not bad at all – it would be crazy somewhere if we could all take sensationally good photos, just because then the sensational becomes normal and nobody wants that.
Erik Witsoe is someone who can take really good photos while capturing the seemingly normal moments in a skilful and fascinating manner. The US photographer now lives in Warsaw and earns his bread with photography – in addition to his professional work, his street photographs are most impressive.
“His approach to photography is largely inspired by cinema which you’ll find reflected throughout his portfolio. His work has been featured in the pages of many magazines, books and articles as well as the subject of exhibits and printed works. His photo-book ‘Okiem przybysza’ won Third Place in Poland’s National Review of Books, in the category of books on Tourism.”
As it should be for a good photographer, Witsoe not only has an Instagram and Facebook account, but is also represented on 500px and Flickr, has its own page including an attached shop – and even runs its own blog! So stopping by is worthwhile in several ways.
